Lely’s vision is to have a sustainable, profitable and enjoyable future in farming. They believe that their robots can contribute to this challenge. Lely’s products are mostly robotics, so they need to function 24 hours a day, resulting in the need of spare parts. Lely sells their products all over the world in more than 46 countries, which makes it very complex to have all the parts available in the right quantity, in the right time. At the same time value of stock is important to measure.
To create customer satisfaction for Lely it is very important to have high availability of spare parts. Previously Lely missed relevant insights in the spare parts planning and therefore they decided to collaborate with Lanza to help them with that challenge.
Together we created a dynamic monthly update of the inventory parameters. With optimal safety stocks and forecasts Lely now avoids stress in the supply chain which results in less firefighting.
Lely manages a lot of spare parts. Exception checks in Lanza let Lely focus on the most important items in the vast assortment. This creates a far more efficient planning of their spare parts portfolio. Moreover, the skills of planners have improved significantly, there are more insights in the distribution of the parts, the planners can follow the parts better, and ultimately forecasts are more accurate which results in a higher service level for Lely’s customers.
